This makes it seem like everything has been erased, but when you load/resume from a saved file, the Xbox will pull down the save from the cloud. So, at least in my experience, you see all the first-time load screens. Deleting your local save file resets the game to the first run state. I think it’s because Quick Resume saves to the Xbox Console itself and not to the actual save file of the game itself. It’s not perfect though, as a corrupt Quick Resume save file might still cause the Xbox game to crash on start. Selecting this will force the game to stop running and you can re-launch it. If the game is suspended in the background, the hamburger menu may show an option that says “Quit Game”.

If there is no game save, you may be out of luck but there is one more option. But it’s better than the alternative, which is to delete the game and restart. Tips: If the game doesn’t autosave or you haven’t saved recently, you may find yourself at an earlier point in the game. Well, at least, this fix worked for me and sharing as if you have a game on your Xbox that crashes on startup, or when coming back from Quick Resume, this will fix it.

The good news, though, the Xbox Series X Quick Resume crash can be fixed. Searching the internet, it seems like this is a common Xbox Series X problem, but no one had a fix. The Xbox had quick saved the game in a quick resume crash state, and I thought I was doomed (no Bethesda pun intended). At the heart of the problem was the Xbox Series X Quick Resume function.
